Safety, reporting and account rules
Avoiding scams, reporting ads and people, moderation, and what gets an account limited.

The golden rules
- Never pay in advance outside Ahiuwa. If you must pay before you have the item, use checkout or a goods-and-services invoice, where the money is held until delivery.
- Only give your delivery code when the item is in your hands.
- Meet in a busy public place in daylight, and bring someone for expensive items.
- Check the item — and for cars and property, the documents — before you pay.
- Confirm payments in your own banking app. Screenshots and “alerts” can be faked.
- Never share codes, PINs or passwords with anyone, even someone claiming to be from Ahiuwa. We never ask.
- Be suspicious of prices far below the market and of anyone who rushes you or wants to leave the chat straight away.

Reporting a listing or an account
- Open the listing or the profile and choose Report from its menu.
- Pick the reason that fits best. For Other, explain in a sentence or two what happened.
- Send it. Our moderators review every report; the person you reported is not told who reported them.
- Listings
- Scam, prohibited item, misleading, duplicate, wrong category, no longer available, counterfeit, or other.
- Accounts
- Impersonation, harassment, scam, spam, inappropriate content, under 18, or other.
If you have lost money
How we keep listings clean
Every new listing, and every edit to a live one, is checked by a moderator before it is shown. Listings can be declined or taken down for prohibited or counterfeit items, misleading photos or prices, duplicates, the wrong category, or anything that breaks our terms of use. The owner always sees the reason.
What can get an account limited
Our team can act on an account that breaks the rules. Depending on what happened, that can mean:
- Suspension
- The account cannot be used, for a set time or until our team lifts it.
- Shop suspension
- A shop stops selling. A suspension with an end date lifts by itself.
- Buying restrictions
- Someone whose “it never arrived” reports keep being disproved may only be offered delivery methods that prove handover, or be stopped from buying.
- Bidding strikes
- A winner who does not pay gets a strike; 2 strikes within 180 days stop them from bidding.
- Blue check removed
- For misusing the blue check.
Shops are also held to a quality score: late shipping and cancellations reduce how often their listings are shown. See Your shop score.
